Salmat was established in 1979 by Philip Salter and Peter Mattick, who identified the huge potential in Australia for effective direct marketing and one-to-one customer communications. From small beginnings as a letterbox distribution network, the company quickly expanded nationally, developing laser imaging and direct mail capabilities, and call centre operations. Salmat listed on the Australian Stock Exchange on 2 December, 2002.
Since then, Salmat has expanded quickly through organic growth and strategic acquisition. In 2006, the company acquired Australia’s leading call centre operator, SalesForce, as well as e-learning group, Aframe, voice recognition technology company, VeCommerce, and SMS marketing experts, Dialect Interactive. Salmat’s further acquisition of business process outsourcing company, HPA, in 2007 cemented the company’s leadership in essential mail distribution and direct marketing on behalf of large service organisations.
Today, Salmat is the undisputed leader in its industry, serving blue chip clients across the Asia Pacific region.
